I am loving it more and more here in Parque San Martin. I really feel like this is where the Lord needs me to be. This week Elder Washburn (my senior missionary companion) and I found some awesome success! We got 6 fechas (appointments) and had 7 investigators attend sacrament meeting! It was a difficult week but very rewarding. We´re working hard and seeing the fruits of our efforts. I know a lot of it has to be the help of the Lord!
The first time we met one of our fechas, his name is Ricardo (he´s awesome), we couldn't quite figure out what his need was and he didn't seem to want anything from us, but we gave him a few more chances and his heart was softened, I'm sure by the Lord, and he started listening to our message. The best part was when we applied what we learned in the capacitacion (training meeting) from last week and just asked him what he thought he needed to do to come closer to the Lord and make the changes he wanted to make in his life, instead of telling him, he knew EXACTLY what he needed to do... it was awesome! He was like "yeah I think I should go to church and probably start reading that book you gave me... because if I don't, how will I understand what you're teaching me?" We were just so excited! We were like, "He gets it!! He really gets it!!" haha We can't wait for his baptism, which is scheduled for the 18th of October.
We´ve also been working with an awesome family! We got all of the kids to come to church with us this week and we invited them to be baptized after showing them the baptismal font and explaining the purpose of being baptized. The youngest girl, Antonella, is SO excited and loved church on Sunday. The whole family is super capo and we can´t wait to see them get baptized on the 18th as well!
This week Elder Washburn and I helped sand the paint off the walls in a members home in preparation for his son´s 5th birthday party. There should be some funny pictures to see, I just hope they send... When we got back to the pension (apartment), we told Elder Lee and Elder Bartold we got in a fight with some smurfs... haha
Hopefully I´ll have some more awesome experiences to share next week! All I can do is work hard and hope for miracles!
Love you guys!
