I haven´t been very good at writing messages to share with all of you lately, sorry! I thought I´d take this opportunity today to share with you all my testimony of that which I know to be true.
I have been greatly blessed by the Lord in these last few transfers to really see the power and authority that we have as missionaries and representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing better than knowing that you are on the Lord´s errand, bearing His divine authority, to preach the truth of, this, His restored Gospel and Church.
I know with all my heart and soul that this truly is the Chruch of Jesus Christ, and that it is He who guides it. The scriptures teach us we must do all things in the name of Christ, as we have taken upon us His holy name in baptism, and that if there are things we do not do in His name, they are not of Him. Jesus taught that His church must bear His name, thus being His, and His forever. I know that He has restored His church in these latter days so we may know how we may return to live with Him.
I testify of the love our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ has for each and every one of us. To them, it doesn't matter who we have been, but more so who we can become. I testify of the power that the Atonement of Jesus Christ can have in our lives. I know of its truth and the power it has to help us be better and really become who our Father in Heaven wants us to become. I know because I have felt its power in my life.
As a representative of Jesus Christ, I testify of the truth of the restoration of His Gospel in these latter days through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know he was a prophet of God, called to restore the Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth, to be the very same Church that He Himself established when He came here to earth. I have gained this testimony for myself; not because it was taught to me, or because someone told me that it is true, or because I was forced to believe, moreso I know it is true because I have asked of God, and He has answered me by the power of His Holy Spirit.
I know that the promise given to us in the Book of Mormon is true; "When ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." This promise has power. Power to change lives, to make one happy, to give one peace, to give one hope, when all these things cannot be found anywhere else. This Gospel, the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, fills holes in our lives that we may or may not know are there. I have seen this Book and this Gospel change lives, including my own.
I may not be perfect, but then again, who is? Only our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was perfect. I know that it is through Him that we may be saved, and forgiven, and taken back to the presence of our Father in Heaven. If I can repent of all that which I have done, and receive the blessing of being forgiven of Him, anyone can. I may not have always been the best example, but I have the opportunity now to share the testimony that I know to be true and, by doing so, help others come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.
I know that there are many of you who read my blog that are members of the Church and share the testimony that I do, but I would like to quickly address all those who are not members of this Church.
As I said before, I know these things to be true, for myself, because God has revealed the truth of them unto me. And He extends a promise to EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US, that we may know FOR OURSELVES, if this really is the truth, if this really is His Church and His Gospel. I know that if you desire to know the truth of these things, and you ask Him in humble prayer, with real intent, He will manifest the truth of them unto you. It doesn´t matter if you are of a different religion, atheist, drowned in sin, happy, sad, depressed or full of joy, rich, poor, married or single. All that matters is that you are His child, a child of God, and that He loves you. The key is that you ask Him, in faith, nothing waivering, because he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea taken by the wind and tossed to and fro carried about by every wind of doctrine. (James 1:5-6 and Ephesians 4:14-15).
I conclude my testimony with the truth that familes can be eternal. Death has no sting, because in Christ all have lived and all will live again. I know that God and Jesus Christ love us. I know that Christ is our Savior, and through Him, all is possible.
In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
