I don´t even know what to say about the last few weeks... it´s been pretty unreal! I didnt realize how short of a time I was really in the MTC (Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT) until the day I was leaving... it felt like I had just gotten there! It was really hard saying goodbye to all my friends in my district and knowing I wouldn't see them for at least the next two years. We had a great last few days together though and took some sweet pictures! Shout out to Hermano Dia (Brother Day) for being an awesome teacher! Oh! Fun fact, an Elder living in my apartment here in Argentina, Elder Bartold, had Hermano Dia in the MTC too! He left the MTC just 2 weeks before I did (he left the Monday before I entered)!
Some cool stuff that happend before I left the MTC though, was that I got to see EVERY one of my friends that I knew was in the MTC at the same time as me. I think that was a huge blessing! It was so awesome!! I got to see all my friends from BYU, back home, and EFY! It was also really awesome, I got to teach the same TRC investigator as Elder Kevin McFarland and my companion and I committed them to baptism, it was sweet!
The day I left started off horrible... I had to wake up at 4 AM to send off one of the Elders in my apartment and then I had to come back and pack for 2 hours... then just as I was walking out the door, I broke my luggage. -.- it was beyond frustrating. It was pretty cool though, we got to take the Front Runner train thing from Provo to the Salt Lake Airport. When we got to the airport, we unloaded all of our stuff out of this huge truck we put it in the back at the MTC. It was terrible trying to wheel all three of my bags through the airport to check them, especially when one had a broken handle... After we got the bags checked and got through security, it was smooth sailing from there! It was super awesome, during my layover in Atlanta, I got to talk to my parents for a few hours and just chillax before my LONG flight to Buenos Aires.
The flight was pretty good and I got like 6 hours of sleep, but when I woke up it barely felt like I took a nap... I was dragging and the day was just starting. The best part of the flight was when my MTC companion, Elder Avalos, walked past me and gave me a fist bump, and some little kid came running up behind me and said "I want one!" and I was like super confused at first but then I realized he wanted a fist bump and after with fist bumped he just gave me this huge smile and walked away... It was like something super small but I thought it was awesome! haha
I am serving in Parque San Martin, Merlo, Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires West Argentina Mission. So it goes Area, Zone, City, Mission. I am in the Parque San Martin Ward. My companion is Elder Washburn! He´s super capo (it means like awesome, cool, a stud, something like that lol)! The first few days here were really hard... It was just like culture shock I think.. It's soooo different here, but I'm learning to love it! I'm quickly running out of time but I love you all and I miss you guys, and the States... haha but the work is moving on down here and I'm super glad to be a part of it! Hopefully I can share some stories next week!
Con mucho amor,
