Monday night, Elder Washburn and I left Parque San Martin for Ramos Mejia, where the mission office is. I had to be there at 9 PM so I could spend the night in the Ciudadela "Skypench", so I could be at the office on time for the Tour on Tuesday. It's called the Skypench because its on the 12th floor of an apartment building and overlooks Ramos Meija. It's not that big of a city, but it's still an awesome view at night. I have pictures, but I forgot my camera in the pench so I'll have to send them next week.
Tuesday, I got to go on a short tour with all the resfuerzos! That's what they call the new missionaries, it means reinforcements. I started the day by going to the airport with the APs (assistants to the president) and 2 other missionaries that came in the middle of the last transfer like I did, Elder Silva (who arrived with me) and Elder Healy (who arrived 2 weeks after me from the MTC here in Buenos Aires). It was so awesome! We got to be outside of International Arrivals and greet all the new missionaries! A few of them asked me if I was an AP... haha. After picking them up, we went to a park called 3 de Febrero, which is where Melvin J. Ballard, an apostle, gave the dedicatory blessing for missionary work in South America. It was sweet! After that we went to Presidents home and ate dinner. It was delicious! While we were at his home, Hermana Robertson (Mission President's wife) told us about their family and showed us a slide show of their family. We also saw a slideshow of all the zones in the mission. We left presidents home and went back to the mission office before splitting up and going back to the Skypench with all the other resfuerzos.
Wednesday was the transfer meeting. I found out that I am staying in Parque! Yay! ANDDDDD we have a new companion in the pench. But wait... I didnt say anyone was leaving... yet. So, we had a TRIO in Parque for like 6 days! The new Elder is Elder Giles, he´s super awesome and from California, which makes him even more awesome! haha The members are soooo sick of changes and new people. haha There's been a total of about 6-7 new missionaries in Parque in the last 10 weeks!
Friday, I was walking around in another area, Merlo 1, with a guy named Elder Wolfe while both of our companions were in their district meeting. We were just going around knocking doors and street contacting. I had my first "just one more door" experience, but it wasn't a normal one. Elder Wolfe had just told me that we needed to head back because the meeting was ending, but I told him we needed to knock just one more door, so we did. It wasn't anything special, we got denied as usual, but the miracle came about a minute later. As we were walking down the street back to the chapel, one of my old investigators from my first week here rolled up next to us on his bike. If we hadn't knocked that door, we would've missed him by like 30 seconds. He was the guy I invited to be baptized my second day here! Pedro! It was great to see him, and he gave us his phone number and said to call him later. It was so sweet!
Last but not least... we found out Elder Bartold is going home. :( He needs surgery on his knee. He busted it pretty bad at home and didn't get it taken care of... He leaves tonight.. I'm going to miss him a ton, he's a great kid.
Well I'm out of time for today...but love you guys! Until next week!
