I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and were able to enjoy quality time with friends and family!
I have truly enjoyed this Easter weekend and have taken a lot of time to ponder on the love and mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know and testify that He lives and loves every single one of us. His atonement is and was a very personal and special act of charity towards each of us. He would have done it to save each of us, even if we alone were the only one that needed saving. His love for us is perfect.
All He asks, to receive His promised blessings, is that we keep his commandments which he has given us. The commandments are like guidelines, that help us stay on the path back to our Heavenly Father. Many people see the commandments as restrictions and rules, but really they are implemented that we may, through them, be free.
I love the example of being at the beach and seeing a sign that says "caution, whirlpools, do not enter the water" many of us would agree that this sign is there for our benefit, right? But, isn't that limiting my freedom to enter the water...? No, it's protecting me from dangerous waters so I may enjoy safer waters the rest of my life. So, work the commandments. Yes, maybe to some they are restrictions. But obedience to them not only saves/helps us, it shows the love we have for our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave all, his innocent and precious blood, that we, unworthy and rebellious sinners may be saved through his grace.
I love you all and I hope you can all take time to ponder the love your Father in Heaven and your Savior, Jesus Christ, have for you. Understanding and comprehending the depth and sincerity of this love can and will change your lives forever. I so testify in the name of Jesus Christ, our lord and Savior, amen.
I love each and every one of you and want you all to know that in this Easter season, and always, you are in my prayers.
