Where to begin...? I guess at the beginning! It was awesome, when I first arrived, I was able to be escorted by one of my best friends, Elder Merek Judd! I had heard that he would be escorting new missionaries but wasn't sure if I'd get to see him. So that was probably the best intro I could have had to the MTC!
Then after he took me to get all my papers and name tag and stuff I got on a bus to go to West Campus, which is Wyview and Raintree for those of you who know BYU. I am pretty much the farthest apartment away from my class... but that's alright! haha and its kind of nice because it seems like we have the place to ourselves (our district). There's 5 companion-ships in my district, 8 elders and 2 sisters. They are Elder Avalos (my companion), Elder Buma, Elder Alvarez, Elder Price, Elder Najera, Elder Staton, and Elder Baldwin. Our sisters are Hermana Greene and Hermana Malstrom. Everyone is super awesome and we've become really close as a district. Elder Buma and I already have an inside joke/handshake from one of Hermana Greene's theories (she's a psych major at BYU). Maybe I'll share it if I have time at the end.. haha
My class is pretty awesome too, I have Hermano Dia ( Brother Day) and Hermana Ferrell as my teachers. They are also my investigators, Fulgencio and Elena. They are super good actors and really challenge us during our lessons with them. We also do this thing called TRC where we teach progressing investigators, and my investigators are Jose and Hely. I think Elder Kevin McFarland taught Jose when he was here in the MTC because I haven't seen or met another investigator named Jose around here,so that's pretty sweet!!
I feel terrible because I have no time to write today!! I've been running around all over the place and I have to be somewhere in 25 mins with my white shirts still in the laundry (I'm wearing casual clothes). I'm running so short on time so I might just have to end this post here, but ill try to be much better in the future! Oh! One cool thing though, I found out I'm only going to be in the MTC for 2 weeks! Well not even that technically... I leave next Monday for Argentina! I'm so pumped!!! So, if you guys want to write me, you might need to do it before Wednesday, or just email me! I would love to hear from you guys! My email is firstname.lastname@example.org . Again, I'm so sorry for the short blog post, especially it being my first one, but I love you guys and I miss you!
I just thought I'd share a short testimony. I know that all of us have a loving Heavenly Father who knows and loves each and every one of us. I know that through the Atonement of Christ, any troubles or sins that we may be having trouble with can be resolved. I know that we have a merciful and just Heavenly Father who will bless all who keep his commandments. My favorite scripture says:
"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."
I know that these things are true, and I know that God wants us to return and live with him again someday, and its all possible because of Christ.
I'm so grateful for the Spirit I've felt while here and I am so grateful for how much my Spanish has improved. I love all of you and hope to hear from you!
